ANNE TAKES ON SENIOR ROLE AT NORTH WEST CANCER RESEARCH FUND
LIVERPOOL-based charity North West Cancer Research Fund has appointed Anne Jackson as Head of Operations and Marketing.
Anne had previously been Marketing Executive and Marketing Manager since joining the charity in 2003.
Anne, who is based at NWCRF�s head office in Oxford Street, will have day-to-day responsibility for planning the charity�s 60th birthday celebrations this year (2007).
She will also continue to be responsible for the fundraising efforts of more than 40 committees, stretching from Cumbria in the North to Machynlleth in Wales.
The 35-year-old has risen through the ranks at the charity despite having to fight her own health battles having had treatment to remove an ovarian cyst. She also lost her father Alan to metastatic melanoma cancer two years ago.
Anne, who grew up in Liverpool and now lives in Great Sankey, Warrington, said: �The next 12 months is vitally important for the charity as we celebrate 60 years and also put in place a new and exciting marketing strategy.
�We are in the process of rebranding the charity and plan to hold a number of flagship events in 2007 including a Summer Ball. We are also currently looking to form partnerships with a number of corporate supporters from across the region.�
John Lewys-Lloyd, chairman of North West Cancer Research Fund, said: �Anne has proved during the last three years to be central to the work of the charity and this new role reflects this. The next 12 months promises to be an exciting time for everyone involved with North West Cancer Research Fund.�
During the past 60 years, North West Cancer Research Fund has raised in excess of �22million with nearly 90p in every pound being spent on fundamental research into the origins and causes of cancer.
The majority of this vital research takes place at three universities in the region � Liverpool, Bangor and Lancaster.
There are usually 30 projects underway at any one time. Cancer accounts for one in four of all deaths in the UK each year.
