LOCAL MAN USES PERSONAL TRAGEDY TO HELP CANCER CHARITY

A superstar DJ has teamed up with Blackpool Spotlight in a unique one off night to raise money for North West Cancer Research Fund.�
DJ Fubar is just one of five DJs to put their name to the event on 11th August in what promises to be Blackpool�s biggest club charity night this year.� Known for pulling in the crowds, DJ Fubar is internationally recognised around the world, spinning his decks in Europe, India the USA.� He boasts celebrity friends such as Victoria Beckham, Denise Van Outen and many of the players from Blackpool FC.
The night, called �High 5� is the brainchild of Blackpool�s Spotlight Magazine�s editor Roger Tretton and will feature five different DJs with five different styles of music. The sets start with DJ Fubar at 9pm, then a different DJ each hour until the last set completes the night at 2am.
Roger, of Babacombe Avenue, South Shore has recently set up the quarterly publication in aid of North West Cancer Research Fund following the recent tragic death of his father from the disease said- He says: �Having seen first hand what cancer sufferers go through, it is hard to put a price on scientific research.� North West Cancer Research Fund consistently spends over 90p in every pound directly on research so I know that by helping them, any money raised will be spent with the patient in mind.
I just decided that it would be really great to get young people involved in the charity and have a good night out at the same time. It�s exciting to have DJ Fubar onboard who will be sure to pull in the crowds.�
The venue for the prestigious night, Bar Red on Church Street is an exclusive and popular bar in Blackpool. The town�s clubbers are sure to be out in force with the mix of five great DJs on their doorstep.� The line up is DJ Fubar, DJ Valentine, Jon E, High Times and DJ Craig Smith who will all be up for an hour each. DJ Fubar who has DJ�d frequently at supreme clubs in the UK such as The Ministry of Sound and Gatecrasher says: �I just really wanted to be involved in the night.� When Blackpool Spotlight approached me I was more than happy to help. Putting the proceeds towards such a good cause is something I�m always happy to do.� It promises to be a great night.�
With the ongoing pioneering research projects in progress at Lancaster University, North West Cancer Research Fund enjoys strong links with the people of Blackpool.� Consistently spending nearly 90p in every � raised directly on research; quite simply, North West Cancer Research Fund is committed to finding the causes of cancer.�
