SNOW IS NO OBSTACLE TO MP IN RAISING MONEY FOR CANCER RESEARCH

We are delighted to announce that Tim Farron MP successfully completed his charity triathlon on 18 March 2006.�
Tim, together with a group of athletic supporters, cycled, sailed and ran a total of nearly 32 miles from the north to the south of the constituency, Westmorland and Lonsdale.� The money raised will be donated to North West Cancer Research Fund and New Holebird.
Tim and the team had to contend with heavy snow but thought that this added to the excitement of the event rather than proving to be an obstacle.
North West Cancer Research Fund is an independent regional cancer research charity which makes �750,000 available every year for fundamental research into the causes of cancer.� The charity has been funding research in Lancaster University for over a decade and has a number of voluntary committees in Lancashire and Cumbria.� Founded in 1948, an average of nearly 90p in every � raised has consistently been spent directly on research and virtually all of this money is raised through voluntary efforts and donations.
