STORM THE LATEST VENUE FOR ANOTHER KIND OF BAND

STORM THE LATEST VENUE FOR ANOTHER KIND OF BAND
20 July 2005

In February 2005 Wahid Akhtar of Storm, the fashion and footwear chain, saw that a large number of people were profiteering from the sale of wrist bands with none of the money going to charity. Unhappy with this, Wahid decided to promote their sale through his ladies high street fashion store in St John's Shopping Centre in Liverpool.

Storm has raised 1500 since March and today handed over a cheque to Adam Morton the Chairman of the newly created Liver City Business Committee of the North West Cancer Research Fund. As Adam says, 'It is only down to the generosity of others that we ensure the continuation of research into the causes of canceronly by finding the causes of cancer can a cure be found.'
